I'm really getting tired of Guild Wars. The item system is boring the crap out of me, as there's nothing worth grinding for, I'm bored with titles, bored with PvP...

Anyway, I'm kinda looking for a new RPG game, preferable with more grinding then Guild Wars (compared to Diablo II maybe). But the grinding isn't the most important part, I'm really looking for a game with a bit of action. Not some sort of advanced chess like World of Warcraft and Everquest. I don't mind paying $50 for the game itself or monthly fee.

In a few months, they should be a few more RPG game's dropping. Check gamefaqs.com on release dates or whatever out there. I haven't seen anything thats worth $50, thats out right now.

I strongly, STRONGLY recommend www.eve-online.com
You should at the very least watch their most recent trailer, which is 1:45 long and 45 MB in size. Why? Because they don't have a special make-trailers team, they just record In-Game footage. It will blow you away.

well if u doin on a ps2 maybe id say get Monster Hunter or Monster Hunter 2.

both very awesome games. items system owns. and if u wanna have the best armor in the game u hafta grind soooo much

its also a very hard game and has 2 story lines, one for offline, and one for online.

edit: its very hard until you know what your doing. and having best gear in the game helps a lot too

Shame to see an eloquent regular go.....

but 2007 will be a good year for MMOs so I'd wait for a few months instead of getting into something right now (unless it's free of course).

9Dragons looks very original but I suppose it's catering for a specific market
Age Of Conan is being really hyped atm is sure to have a lot of subs
WAR looks to be pretty good if you don't mind the style of graphics
Aeon is the one I'm personally looking forward

Hmm, I liked playing Homeworld, and EVE really reminds me of that game. Am I totally wrong, or is that kinda close

And yeah, I guess you guys are right that it's not a good time to start an MMORPG, I've looked everywhere, and haven't found much I really liked.

I hear ya about wanting to find other things to try.

I tried to get onto Rappezl (spelling?), but they have a very narrow set of email addresses you can create an account from, but of course don't list them. Couldn't get their downloaded file open either.

I thought I'd go to EverQuest 2 myself for a bit, but the trial download was still trying to download 6 hours later (and I'm on 6 meg/ cable).

I'm hoping Aion comes out soon! I need a break from GW.

I wouldnt exactly call WoW advancec chess, it requires a lot of grinding and time and money but all in all its a good game, i think most GW players just hate it because its GWers major competitor probably. Apart from WoW, Eve would be a good choice ofc, as mentioned by others. However as for "new" good MMORPG's there simply arnt any

As for good online RPG games, i don't know. I'm hoping to hear words on Elder Scroll: Oblivion's expansion pack soon. It might not be online but the depth and gameplay that is in Oblivion couldn't be compared with any games out there right now.

My brother made some animations for that game. He told me it'd probably be something for me, but it's not out yet. I'll definitly try it out once it's released (my brother will probably buy the full game anyway), and thanks for reminding me, I might've forgotten

And I'm poor, I can't afford a PS3. My brother does have a PS2 though, any cool RPGs you recommend for the PS2? I hear Kingdom Hearts (and Kingdom Hearts 2) are amazing

Hmmm, I guess noone has ever had the guts to make an Action MMORPG, or am I wrong? That's pretty much the best way to describe what I'm looking for

I'm just tired of games where all I need to do it click on someone, click some numbers, an maybe run away if things go bad. And of course, they can add very nice animations to make you feel like you're owning, but that gets old very soon.

Any of you guys heard of Rappelz? It's been in open beta I think for about a month now and it's pretty good. It's kind of like Lineage II in a way, but fun though. Been bored with Guild Wars for some time now so I thought I'll play another game.

That animal next to me is called an Onca, lol. Cute little thing that's tameable

you can try out WoW for free for 2 weeks. unfortuantly, u can't get above lvl 20 and the games doesn't really get interesting until u get to about 40.

final fantacy XI is another huge MMO and i'm kind of supirzed it wasn't mentioned sooner. but it's not like other MMO's. lvling up your character takes longer than any MMO i've played and can get confusing beacuse there's so much configurations to mess with. it's defiantly a game that takes a while to get used to.

sega came out with fantacy universe, but that was a major flop...i was hoping it would have done better. :*(** * ***

but my honest advice to u it to wait a few more months, like everyone else said. its better to wait and get a good game than to get something now and waste ur money on it.
